【訃報】五十嵐威暢氏 Takenobu Igarashiが2025/2/12に死去されました

本日は悲しいお知らせがございます。
20年来、商品復刻、開発、展覧会などをご一緒させて頂きました、デザイナーであり、彫刻家でもあった、五十嵐威暢氏が2025/2/12午前7時33分に札幌の病院にて進行性核上性まひで死去されました。
五十嵐氏は多摩美術大学のデザイン学科、アメリカのUCLAの修士課程を修了され、アメリカから日本へのApple Macの橋渡しをされ、その後、多摩美術大学デザイン学科教授時代にMacを大学に大量導入をされ、Apple Macを所有する世界中から選ばれたAppleMasters（https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AppleMasters）に選ばれました。
そして、MoMAの仕事をはじめ世界中でデザイナーとして、その後ロサンゼルスで彫刻家として10年間活動され、札幌駅再開発のいくつかのアートワークの依頼を受けて帰国。
2つの札幌駅の時計デザインをされ、それが、星の大時計、eki clockになります。そして2005年に10以上の作品展、イベントを網羅した「五十嵐威暢シリーズ展」を東京、北海道を中心に展開、eki clockも発表、その取り組みが評価され、シリーズ展で毎日デザイン賞を受賞されました。
その後代表作はニューヨーク近代美術館をはじめ、世界30カ所以上の公立美術館に永久保存されるなど世界のアートデザインをけん引されるなど多大な業績を残されました。 
引き続きdesignshopでは五十嵐様との取組みを継続しつつプロダクト開発など次世代につなげていければと考えております。

We have a sad announcement to make today. 
Takenobu Igarashi, a designer and sculptor with whom we have worked for 20 years on product reprints, development, and exhibitions, passed away at 7:33 a.m. on 2/12/2025 at a Sapporo hospital from progressive supranuclear palsy. 
Mr. Igarashi graduated from Tama Art University's Department of Design and UCLA's Master's program in the United States, He was the first Japanese to use Apple Mac in the U.S. Later, when he was a professor in the Department of Design at Tama Art University, he introduced a large number of Mac to the university and was selected as an AppleMaster (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AppleMasters) from among Apple Mac owners around the world. 
He was selected as one of the Apple Masters from all over the world who own Apple Mac. 
He then worked as a designer around the world, including work for MoMA, and later as a sculptor in Los Angeles for 10 years, returning to Japan after being commissioned to do several artworks for the redevelopment of Sapporo Station.
He designed two clocks for Sapporo Station, which became the Grand Clock of Stars and the EKI Clock. <br>In 2005, Takenobu Igarashi's “Takenobu Igarashi Series Exhibition” covering more than 10 exhibitions and events was held in Tokyo and Hokkaido, and EKI clock was also presented.
His works have been permanently preserved in more than 30 public museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and he has been a driving force in art design around the world.
We at designshop look forward to continuing our work with Mr. Igarashi and to passing it on to the next generation. Thank you very much for all you have done for us.
